The Acronis TRU Security Day UAE 2025 was successfully held on February 20, 2025, at the Hilton Dubai Palm Jumeirah, attracting key players in the cybersecurity landscape, especially from the Managed Service Provider (MSP) community. This one-day event, sponsored by DataguardNXT, focused on empowering businesses with the latest cybersecurity insights, innovations, and strategies to protect their digital infrastructure while driving growth.
Designed to address the rapidly evolving cybersecurity challenges, the event featured exclusive research from the Acronis Threat Research Unit (TRU), in-depth technical training through the Acronis Academy, and valuable opportunities for networking. Attendees, including MSPs, resellers, and system integrators, left with enhanced knowledge and actionable insights to tackle the increasing complexity of cyber threats in the UAE and across the globe.
The day began with a warm welcome from Ziad Nasr, General Manager Middle East at Acronis, who set the tone for the event with an opening keynote. He highlighted the growing importance of cyber protection in the digital age and outlined the role of Acronis in enabling businesses to navigate cybersecurity challenges effectively.
Nasr emphasized the key objectives of the event: to offer MSPs the tools they need to protect their clients and to provide insights that could help them grow their business amidst the increasing threat landscape in the UAE region.
A highly anticipated session of the day was led by Pasha Ershow, Senior Vice President for Acronis in APJ and the Middle East, who shared the latest data on MSP benchmarks specific to the UAE market. This session provided a detailed comparison of MSP performance metrics, such as revenue per seat, endpoints per technician, and churn rates.
By benchmarking their operations against industry standards, MSPs gained valuable insights into areas where they could improve their efficiency and profitability. Ershow emphasized that understanding and optimizing these key performance indicators is critical to staying competitive in the rapidly growing cybersecurity market.
One of the highlights of Acronis TRU Security Day UAE 2025 was the exclusive research presented by the Acronis Threat Research Unit (TRU). This session, delivered by Oleg Ishanov, Director of Threat Research at Acronis, focused on the latest trends in cyber threats impacting businesses in the UAE region.
Ishanov discussed the rise of sophisticated ransomware attacks, phishing schemes, and vulnerabilities in cloud environments. Attendees were provided with detailed analysis and regional insights on how these threats were evolving and the best strategies to mitigate them. The actionable advice from Acronis TRU helped MSPs better understand the threats their clients face and equipped them with the tools to offer stronger, more reliable protection.

Gerald Beuchelt, Chief Information Security Officer at Acronis, joined the session to discuss Acronis’ future plans, including upcoming advancements in ransomware protection, disaster recovery, and new capabilities to support the Microsoft stack such as M365 and Azure.
The innovation roadmap not only showcased Acronis' commitment to staying ahead of cyber threats but also demonstrated how MSPs can leverage these new solutions to deliver more efficient, profitable services.
The day concluded with the Acronis Partner Awards Ceremony, where Ziad Nasr returned to recognize the achievements of Acronis’ top-performing partners in the UAE region. The awards celebrated innovation, excellence, and dedication to delivering world-class cybersecurity services. Partners were praised for their contributions to the advancement of cyber protection in the region.
